                
The Mission of the Division of Mathematics and Science Education is to
provide curriculum leadership and instructional support for the development
of scientific and mathematical literacy to impact student achievement and
promote lifelong learning.
- Improve the teaching and learning of mathematics and science so that
all students are ensured an equitable standards based education;
- Implement a variety of professional development opportunities for every
teacher of mathematics and science, which is designed to enhance performance
and produce systemic reform;
- Promote parental involvement through community awareness of all stake
holders in the mathematics and scientific education of M-DCPS students.
Additionally, the Division coordinates the implementation of grants for
mathematics and science reform in order to maximize achievement of all
students in mathematics and science and to produce lifelong learners who
can meet the challenges of the 21st century. |
